Bug #2142536: Firmware Gap for MediaTek MT7902 and AMD GPU on Ubuntu 24.04 (Noble)
Hi Juerg, Thank you for the prompt reply to my report, such promptness encourages folks like me to help (and help more effectively) in the future. As I am a novice with the Ubuntu bug reporting process, I didn't realize the full set of information required, such as the kernel log files. In my haste to resolve the "offline deadlock" and restore functionality to my laptop, I proceeded with the manual sideloading and driver bind method I described. Unfortunately, in doing so, I have since overwritten the system state that would have provided the necessary debugging info for this specific instance. +2 I have taken note of the requirement for the next time I encounter an issue. I will ensure that I run sudo apport-collect 2142536 right away to provide the logs needed to help the team more effectively from the start. I really appreciate the work you all do to make Ubuntu better, and I will keep an eye out for future opportunities to contribute.
