Public bug reported:
We'd like to backport a new feature of systemd into resolute:
* https://github.com/systemd/systemd/pull/38516
* https://github.com/systemd/systemd/pull/40645
This new feature allows granting users access to certain kernel device
nodes while a logind session is active, which will be used in Ubuntu
Desktop to fix the long-standing bug 2077538 by dynamically granting
access the GPU render nodes while the remote desktop session is running.
The feature is going to be released upstream as part of systemd 260 but
that's not going to land in resolute, thus it will have to be backported
as prepared in the linked MP. The backport has been successfully built,
installed, and runs as expected.
** Affects: systemd (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
