Public bug reported:

A new feature coming to kernel 7.0 is the ability to change the amount
of UMA carveout on AMD systems that is programmed in the BIOS.

https://docs.kernel.org/next/gpu/amdgpu/driver-misc.html#uma-carveout

This feature requires a privileged process to write the value. To wrap
up the interface with policy kit it is being brought into fwupd.

https://github.com/fwupd/fwupd/pull/9925

I'm still working on the code review upstream, but I'm expecting we can
merge this upstream and bring it to the stable branch that Ubuntu 26.04
tracks.

** Affects: fwupd (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
