I experienced this same issue with a persistent gjs process showing in
my dock/taskbar. The solution that worked for me was disabling the
problematic GNOME extension using:
gnome-extensions disable extension-name@domain
Once I disabled the specific extension causing the issue, the gjs
process icon disappeared from the dock and stopped restarting
automatically. For others facing this issue, I'd recommend checking your
enabled extensions first with:
gnome-extensions list --enabled
to identify which one might be causing the problem.
