Unfortunately, nothing shows up in the log - they just 'stop' at the
moment the crash happened. I'd be happy to try to do some tests to help
narrow this down, but not in a way that could result in data loss - the
crashes occurred transferring data from an NTFS partition to my primary
boot drive (nvme) so I'd rather avoid anything that results in a crash
while writing to that driver. I would also need some instructions for
how to go about testing the mainline kernel - I've never replaced the
kernel on my Ubuntu system outside of the standard apt update/upgrade
cycle.
