Ah, I see the issue now. It looks like there was a test oversight in my
case. The `exiftran` package hadn't been updated before running the
tests, though the `fbi` was updated.
Here was my setup:

Initially, all tests were passing, but after revisiting the test
infrastructure(thanks to your comment), I realised the problem. After
updating `exiftran`, I can now reproduce the crash. My apologies for
missing this earlier. I will go ahead and close this bug since this is
not `sync` anymore. I will file a new bug for the fbi merge.
