Developers: according to http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=659996, bug
have appear on 2.20.16 and was not in 2.20.15.
I know, it won't be fixed if Feisty.

Krychek, I think 1708 refer to the chip that deals with sound on your
motherboard, after all your bug report had in it:
**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
card 0: VT82xx [HDA VIA VT82xx], device 0: VT1708 Analog [VT1708 Analog]

hg is the symbol of Mercure and the command use for the Mercurial control
version system used by alsa developers to share their patchs.
alsa-kernel hg can be browsed at:
http://hg-mirror.alsa-project.org/alsa-kernel/

So I think that the strange sentence was willing to say that new patches have
been added to fix problems with your chip in the previously mentioned link.
While making the sentence, Daniel marked the bug as Fix committed, probably
because he think that these patches will fix your problem.
Since it did not marked it as fix committed should means that this is not yet
available even in Hardy (here I am saying the opposite of William).
Maybe William knows stuff I don't.
