Sorry for the late reply. In the original post, I was using the word cursor for two separate things. I clearified this in the original post.
So by saying cursor, I meant a rectangular shape that blinks to indicate where the text will be inserted. e.g. user$[] the rectangle [] flashes periodcially in the normal circumstance. Problem occurs after using the terminal for a while, editing texts, ssh, etc.. (this happens very randomly, I have no clue what triggers it). When I put my mouse cursor (pointy arrow that moves when I move my mouse) to the tab area of the temrinal (usually there is a text box of the form user@computer:cwd ...), then the rectangle "[]" mentioned above start blinking rapidly. Unfortunately I cannot make a video of this, as it happens very randomly, and frankly, I don't know how to make a video while hiding my user/computer name and cwd.
