On Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS with kernel HWE generic 6.11.0-21.21~24.04.1 I
don't have hangs nor panic traces but at reboot I still get:

shutdown[1]: Could not stop MD /dev/md126: Device or resource busy
mdadm: Cannot get exclusive access to /dev/md126: Perhaps a running process, 
mounted filesystem or active volume group?
mdadm:Cannot stop container /dev/md127: member md126 still active
mdadm: Cannot get exclusive access to /dev/md126: Perhaps a running process, 
mounted filesystem or active volume group?
mdadm:Cannot stop container /dev/md127: member md126 still active
(sd-exec-[NNNN+1>]: /usr/lib/systemd/system-shutdown/mdadm.finalrd failed with 
exit status 1.
shutdown[1]: Unable to finalize remaining file system, MD devices, ignoring.

At reboot the filesystem is always checked.
