This was fixed in Debian. As stated in comment #4 etckeeper is a sync,
so the fix will trickle down to Ubuntu next cycle, once the Beta freeze
is lifted.

I wonder if we should sync it right now, before final freeze? But I do
not feel confident, due to the (albeit minimal) behavioral change.
