Public bug reported: Kubuntu 25.04 beta installer with completely default installation (erase disk, ext4) will install two kernels:
`/boot/vmlinuz-6.14.0-11-generic` and `/boot/vmlinuz-6.14.0-13-generic` However only one initram images is installed alongside: `/boot/initrd.img-6.14.0-11-generic` But since grub is configured to boot `6.14.0-13` by default, which has no initram image, the kernel will immediately panic upon boot: `VFS: Unable to mount root fs on "/dev/nvme0n1p2" or unknown-block(0,0)` ** Affects: calamares (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "Error message of kernel panic upon boot" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2105436/+attachment/5868384/+files/signal-2025-03-30-182822_002.jpeg -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2105436 Title: Kubuntu 25.04 beta installer will not install correct initram image To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/calamares/+bug/2105436/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
