Apparently there is another recent bug
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2092363) where the
installation of a firmware package fails in apt when pc-kernel is used.
Maybe a more general approach is necessary in order to prevent packages from
trying to install themselves into the read-only filesystem of the kernel snap?

Or apt should install firmware packages in a way that the pc-kernel snap
can use apt-installed firmware?

I know that other projects like openSUSE/ SLES did test all their packages for
compatibility with a read-only root filesystem when they developed
'transactional-updates'.
