Apparently there is another recent bug (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2092363) where the installation of a firmware package fails in apt when pc-kernel is used. Maybe a more general approach is necessary in order to prevent packages from trying to install themselves into the read-only filesystem of the kernel snap?
Or apt should install firmware packages in a way that the pc-kernel snap can use apt-installed firmware? I know that other projects like openSUSE/ SLES did test all their packages for compatibility with a read-only root filesystem when they developed 'transactional-updates'. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2096979 Title: wireless-regdb update problem at Ubuntu 24.04.1 TPM-backed Full Disk Encryption setup To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/boot-managed-by-snapd/+bug/2096979/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
