Public bug reported: On laptop model ASUS Vivobook 14 X1404VAP_X1404VA the internal keyboard doesn't work on Ubuntu Linux 24.10. Typing has no effect.
A kernel bug has been filed for this issue, 219891: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=219891. Similar issue was reported here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2037768, for different laptop model. Special patch was created by Paul Menzel to avoid this issue -> https://lore.kernel.org/all/20250318160903.77107-1-pmen...@molgen.mpg.de/T/#u, I've tested patched ubuntu mainline kernel 6.14.0-rc7 - it works perfectly fine. (non patched ubuntu mainline kernel 6.14.0-rc7 has an described issue) So i just wanted to update Ubuntu team about such issue for possible including mentioned patch in future kernel releases asap. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2103685 Title: Laptop internal keyboard not working on ASUS Vivobook 14 X1404VAP_X1404VA To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2103685/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
