I've got a '+1' from IBM (the person who opened LP#2044104).
Hence I transferred the above snippet now to a debdiff, as suggestion.

At enr0n, you may have a look at the debdiff.
Are you already planning a systemd update for plucky, that could be used to 
piggyback the fix for this bug?
