Hi, I can't reproduce the issue with Focal (20.04) and Jammy (22.04) containers. Using your C code, I consistently get similar performance (around 9.5 seconds on my system). In the Jammy container I tried both the Focal binary and a freshly compiled binary, to be sure, and the perf was the same.
Could you run `apport-collect 2101201` on your system so that we get more information? Also, could you try your code in a Focal container on your Jammy system, to see if you get similarly low performance? If so, that would hint at a kernel-level problem. ** Changed in: glibc (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2101201 Title: The performance of the rand() function degradation To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/glibc/+bug/2101201/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
