Public bug reported: When running IntelliJ IDEA in an X session with Mutter and an nVidia graphics card and proprietary drivers some dialogs have a semi- transparent background making it hard to read any text in those.
The bug was originally reported here: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/JBR-6983 Then an issue was filed against Mutter and successfully resolved: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/issues/3600 The resolution has been confirmed by several people building Mutter from source as is supported by comments here: * https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/JBR-6983/Transparent-dialogs-on-Linux-with-Nvidia-card#focus=Change-27-11029389.0-0.pinned * https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/JBR-6983/Transparent-dialogs-on-Linux-with-Nvidia-card#focus=Comments-27-11063989.0-0 The corresponding Mutter package for Ubuntu 24.04 has not yet been updated to include the suggested fix. Please, consider backporting this change: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/merge_requests/3914 Thank you! ** Affects: mutter (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "screenshot.jpg" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2099879/+attachment/5860072/+files/screenshot.jpg -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2099879 Title: Transparent dialogs in IntelliJ IDEA with Mutter and nVidia To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mutter/+bug/2099879/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
