RTL8153 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter Steps to replicate: 1) Connect USB adapter to a LAN, I assume I received IP address 192.168.1.11 from DHCP server. 2) check with ifconfig what is IP address on interface enx00e04c68002f 3) define alias, 'sudo ifconfig enx00e04c68002f:33 192.168.33.11' 4) check with ifconfig the result I see that there is no new interface enx00e04c68002f:33 and that IP address on interface enx00e04c68002f was changed to 192.168.33.11. That is a bug! Expected behavior: Interface enx00e04c68002f will keep IP address assigned from DHCP server, like 192.168.1.11 New interface enx00e04c68002f:33 will be added with IP address 192.168.33.11 This report is for an older kernel and older Ubuntu distribution.
