I did some profiling using Subiquity's dry-run feature in two LXD
environments. One with jammy (i.e., core22) and one with noble (i.e.,
core24).

In both environments, I did the following steps
* navigate to the "guided storage configuration" screen
* leave the default options checked i.e.
   * (x) Use an entire disk
   *   [x] Set up this disk as an LVM group
   *     [ ] Encrypt the LVM group with LUKS
   * ( ) Custom storage layout
* position the cursor to the "custom storage layout" line
* pressed the "UP" arrow key

Results
-------
jammy:
  * 27100 function calls (24489 primitive calls) in 0.011 seconds
noble:
  * 1846977 function calls (1826012 primitive calls) in 0.365 seconds
