In "debian/extra/initramfs/local-top/iscsi" open-iscsi currently runs this code unconditionally:
# run configure_networking even if we have iscsi_auto, because there # could be other network interfaces that need to be configured # also, if we set up DHCP iBFT, we need ipconfig to run so it creates # a proper /run/net-${DEVICE}.conf file that includes the DNS search # domain, which we don't get in our iBFT data (see LP: #1806777) configure_networking Comment #3 sounds like we'd probably need some additional condition check here to avoid calling configure_networking() when booting from a virtio disk (scsi bus). ** Changed in: open-iscsi (Ubuntu) Status: New => Triaged ** Changed in: open-iscsi (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Tags added: server-triage-discuss -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2098515 Title: IPv6-only (single stack) instances configuring network over dhcp in initramfs will take a long time to boot due to loop in dhcpcd -4 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/open-iscsi/+bug/2098515/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
