Thanks. gpu-manager.log seems to confirm that a GPU was found but no
kernel driver loaded:

  Is boot vga? yes
  Error: can't access /sys/bus/pci/devices/0000:00:02.0/driver
  The device is not bound to any driver.

also this looks unusual to me:

  ubuntu kernel: Command line: BOOT_IMAGE=(loop)/casper/vmlinuz
boot=casper iso-scan/filename=/home/corrado/Downloads/plucky-desktop-
amd64.iso noeject noprompt splash --

I wonder if whatever customization that is is also preventing linux-
modules-extra from being loaded. Can you try booting the ISO from USB
instead?

That's probably bug 2098390 and not related to this.
