Public bug reported: Thermald package has some lines in the default config file /usr/share/dbus-1/system.d/org.freedesktop.thermald.conf that mentions the group "power", but this group isn't used by Ubuntu (I suppose neither for Debian). I had to create this group and add myself to it because of this: I replaced power-profiles-daemon with tuned and tuned-ppd. It works quite well, specially the fan speed adjustment. The problem is, at night, the displays, the internal one from my laptop and also my external display, don't turn off completely. I can see light, even the screen is black. Why was looking into the logs and found out a line about this mention of "power" group doesn't exist. I created it, and add my user to it, and after restarting my session, for a reason I don't completely understand, the screen actually turned off. I can't understand because tuned should be responsible for power save, balanced and performance modes, and thermald controling the CPU and maybe the fan. So the idea is to change "power" group for another group that is actually used, or create it.
