Public bug reported:

Hello,

running Ubuntu 24.01 LTS with Kernel 6.8 or 6.11 connected to a Lenovo
Thunderbolt 3 Dock (40AN, Gen 2) enables every USB/HDMI/DisplayPort
device of the Dock to work properly - except of the Analog Sound Sink
(3.5mm Audio Jack) which does not work but is listed as Sound Sink in
the Output devices.

Additionally to not working as Sink on the Ubuntu 24/Kernel 6.8&6.11
Lenovo Machine the Sound Source (Input) of the very same 3.5mm Analog
Audio Port is not listed at all.

This behavior is really odd as the Analog Sound Sink and Source works
with Ubuntu 22 LTS/Kernel 6.5/Pipewire 0.3 as tested on my previous
Intel (8th Gen) i915 machine with HDA Intel SND driver/ Realtek ALC236
Chipset.

Actually, it is quite "interesting" that everything works with Ubuntu
22/kernel 6.5, because as soon as I upgraded the Ubuntu 22 of the older
i915 machine to Ubuntu 24 with Kernel 6.8 the Laptops internal Speaker
are not recognized as Sound Sink any longer and therefor do not work
DESPITE the Sound Source of the same device (Laptops internal
Microphones) being listed and working.

So to me it seems that as soon as Kernel 6.8 or newer is used with either
machines, there are issues: The i915 (Intel 8th Gen) machine has sound issues
with internal sink (but not source) and the external USB sound device (sink and
source),
while my newer Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 8 (Intel 13th Gen i5-1345U) has only
issues with external USB sound devices (sink and source) but not with the
internal sound devices.

Please advice what Logs you may need.

Thanks ahead
