Public bug reported:

After a "apt upgrade" around 20-23/1/2025 xsane started failing, but I
could get no useful info from it. At the same time I noticed that the
way that my scanner was initialised/reset after waking the computer had
changed: it now did more operations.

Switching to simple-scan, I get the following:

$ simple-scan

(simple-scan:26205): Gtk-WARNING **: 09:19:43.636: Theme parser error:
gtk.css:1:1-2: Expected a valid selector

(simple-scan:26205): Gtk-WARNING **: 09:19:59.693: Calling
org.xfce.Session.Manager.Inhibit failed:
GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.UnknownMethod: No such method “Inhibit”
[09:20:00.216068] [pixma] device response: DeviceCheckError - Device detected a
fault. Contact the repair center.

I can find nthing in the log files.

The scanner is a LiDE 400, and has been in use for a coupe of years with
no problems.

** Affects: simple-scan (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
