Hi Kimse (0-kh),

> When I connect an external display via HDMI to my laptop, the entire
system locks up for approximately 30 seconds, and the external display
is never detected. However, if I boot the machine with the external HDMI
display already connected, there are no issues, then the display works
as expected.

This sounds like a separate issue, the symptoms are completely
different. You should open a separate issue instead. In my case the HDMI
flat out doesn't work from kernel 6.8.0-44 and forward. There is no lock
up issue. And having the cable in at boot doesn't help.
