Public bug reported:

When TV cable (HDMI) is disconnected from the laptop, in gnome-control-
center, display section, I can see that second display ("LG TV") is
still there. This leads to multiple inconveniences:

- Some new windows might open on this secondary display, so there is no
way to access it. It looks like app is running invisible.

- Audio output is still switched to LG TV. Perhaps it would switch back
to laptop, if LG TV was removed as an output on cable unplug.
