Public bug reported:
After upgrading to 24.04.1 from 22.04.4, my cable-connected headphones'
microphone is no longer recognized (they were previously). Checking
Settings>Sound>Input device gives only my laptop's built-in microphone
(laptop is a Lenovo ThinkPad P72). From one or two other reports around
the web, I am not alone in this experience.
Expected behavior: Headphones' mic (connected via 3.5mm audio jack) is
recognized.
Observed behavior: Headphones' mic (connected via 3.5mm audio jack) is
not recognized.
The headphones otherwise work (i.e. I can hear computer audio through
them).
