Public bug reported:

The problem has persisted since upgrading to Linux Mint 22 and kernel
version 6.8x.

There is no sound out of speakers or when the phone jack is plugged in.
Bluetooth earbuds work fine. When nothing is connected, three devices
appear in the GUI Settings>Sound, and when "Test sound" is clicked, each
shows up without left or right speakers. In Alsamixer, the three S/PDIF
items have volume at 00, and it cannot be adjusted. When pipewire was
removed and pulseaudio re-enabeled, it didn't help--but it did hose the
Bluetooth speakers.

Other things tried: running Ubuntu 24x from Live USB; running Linux Mint
22 from Live USB; running Fedora 41 from Live USB. It seems to be a
kernel bug for my particular system. I also added the following lines in
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf:

options snd-hda-intel dmic_detect=0
options snd-intel-dspcfg dsp_driver=3

I subsequently removed them since it didn't help with my problem.
