I'm missing two test cases here:

1) Check that there are no regressions on systems without smart card reader 
setup
2) Check on a mixed system, where some users login with smartcard and some 
without that both work adequately.

The 2nd case is quite tricky and has been broken for a long time, but I
think it's fixed in noble and it's important to make sure we don't
regress on it.
