See this document for currently supported Ubuntu releases: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases We appreciate that this bug may be old and you might not be interested in discussing it anymore. But if you are then please install a supported latest Ubuntu version and re-test. If you then find the bug is still present in the newer Ubuntu version, please add a comment here telling us which new version it is in. Ubuntu 23.04 is EOL thus the errors you experienced 2024-12-03 05:35:27,677 ERROR IOError/SystemError in cache.update(): 'E:The repository 'http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu lunar-security Release' does not have a Release file., W:Updating from such a repository can't be done securely, and is therefore disabled by default., W:See apt-secure(8) manpage for repository creation and user configuration details., E:The repository 'http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu lunar Release' does not have a Release file., W:Updating from such a repository can't be done securely, and is therefore disabled by default., W:See apt-secure(8) manpage for repository creation and user configuration details., E:The repository 'http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu lunar-updates Release' does not have a Release file., W:Updating from such a repository can't be done securely, and is therefore disabled by default., W:See apt-secure(8) manpage for repository creation and user configuration details., E:The repository 'http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu lunar-backports Release' does not have a Release file.'. Retrying (currentRetry: 0) Ubuntu 23.04's supported upgrade path was to 23.10 (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ManticUpgrades); however Ubuntu 23.10 (mantic) is now also EOL so that upgrade path is gone. Your supported upgrade paths are gone, you can refer to https://help.ubuntu.com/community/EOLUpgrades which does mention "Unsupported upgrades" which are a more manual process, which is the upgrade path now for Ubuntu 23.04 outside of re-install. In future; upgrade prior to EOL, or in the six months after EOL, as after that period you risk being in the unsupported upgrade path you're now in (unless the next release is a LTS, then you have longer). ** Changed in: ubuntu-release-upgrader (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2090892 Title: Upgrade issue To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-release-upgrader/+bug/2090892/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
