Is your issue with nautilus (like if you browse ~/Desktop in the file- manager) or with the desktop view (which is a handled by gnome-shell- extension-desktop-icons-ng)? It could be that your issue is similar to https://salsa.debian.org/Sergio.Costas/gnome-shell-extension-desktop- icons-ng/-/merge_requests/1 but then the journal should show apparmor denial messages...
