Hi Ghadi,

Build in ppa with -updates, all arches: pass
Build in ppa with -proposed, all arches: pass
Autopkgtest run in qemu VM: pass

Some comments:

1) The debdiff didn't actually apply with debdiff-apply, unsure why, so I had
to manually apply the changes and build.
2) in d/changelog, I really want to see the description on the first line with
the files changed below. I attached a debdiff to show you what we are after.
3) I think its best when you tidy up the SRU template to remove a lot of the
original bug report, and keep it to what is necessary.
4) The version you selected is wrong. Use
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SecurityTeam/UpdatePreparation#Update_the_packaging as
what to choose. FYI the correct version should have been 0.17.4-1ubuntu0.1
5) I can't reproduce the problem, and this is blocking me from sponsoring. I
spent an hour or two trying, and I couldn't make aide crash.

I tried using vim to remove the trailing newline from /etc/apt/sources.list
with:

:set noendofline binary
:w

and then ran

$ sudo aideinit -f -y
$ UPAC_settingsd=/etc/aide/aide.settings.d /etc/aide/aide.conf.d/31_aide_apt

Each time it worked fine.

I then tried added the protonvpn sources.list, and the plesk
sources.list from the mailing list thread, and it also worked fine as
well.

I really want to see some difference between the released package and the test
package fixing the issue.

Please make a valid reproducer and attach to LP bug, and I will sponsor
then.

Thanks,
Matthew
