Public bug reported: Good evening,
I hope you can help. I have recently updated to Ubuntu 24.10 from 24.04LTS on a Raspberry Pi 5 with 8GB ram. Prior to the update i could access any of my external USB hard disk drives, but since the update to 24.10 non of my external drive mount. They are listed in 'files' but when i try to access them I get the following message - Unable to access usb drive, not authorized to perform operation (polkit authority not available and caller is not uid 0) I also get the same message if i try to mount the drive via 'Disks' Any suggestions and help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Kind regards Andrew ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 24.10 Package: gvfs 1.56.0-2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 6.11.0-1004.4-raspi 6.11.0 Uname: Linux 6.11.0-1004-raspi aarch64 ApportVersion: 2.30.0-0ubuntu4 Architecture: arm64 CasperMD5CheckResult: unknown CloudArchitecture: aarch64 CloudID: none CloudName: none CloudPlatform: none CloudSubPlatform: config CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Mon Oct 14 19:59:23 2024 HotplugNewDevices: /dev/sdd /dev/sdd1 HotplugNewMounts: ProcEnviron: LANG=C.UTF-8 PATH=(custom, no user) SHELL=/bin/bash TERM=xterm-256color XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=<set> SourcePackage: gvfs Symptom: storage Title: Does not detect hotplugged storage device UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to oracular on 2024-10-13 (1 days ago) ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug arm64 oracular -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2084487 Title: Unable to access usb drive, not authorized to perform operation (polkit authority not available and caller is not uid 0) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/2084487/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
