@ahasenack Please let me provide an overview of the overall status of
the 'Secure Execution guest dump encryption with customer keys'
situation:

The kernel part was reviewed, accepted and got applied to jammy master-next by
the kernel team and is currently in -proposed (it was also used for the
validation).
The delay for the kernel modification is mainly due to the fact that the kernel
team skipped one of the SRU cycles (https://kernel.ubuntu.com/). Hence the
current "Release to -updates" date is planned for the 'Week of 28-Oct' (without
the skipped cycle it would have been end of September and the patched kernel
would haven been already rolled out).

Since the kernel and qemu patches build the foundation for 'Secure
Execution guest dump encryption with customer keys', this was the
initial focus.

Work (and discussions) on the s390-tools patches started in parallel. I was
contacted bypassing LP with a discussion about the s390-tools patches, since
the list of patches is relatively long and I wanted to ensure that it is as
short/minimal as possible, which is the case now (even is if there are quite
some left).
On top a personal incident happened on one of the participating engineers
happened and I personally became in the recent days pretty busy with the beta,
RC and GA of 24.10.

The s390-tools bug rippled up the priority list and I'll proceed with
that soon.

I just noticed (and that might have caused some confusion, also for me) that
the list of needed patches were uploaded to the wrong LP bug.
It was uploaded here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-z-systems/+bug/2003680/comments/2
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-z-systems/+bug/2003680/comments/3
but should have been attached to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1959965
instead.
(The two bugs are very similar, close to duplicates, if not addressing
different releases.)

I've moved the list and comments now to the correct LP bug:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/s390-tools/+bug/1959965/comments/5
