(You seem to have the same -p1 issue in your interdiff which makes it
harder to read.  Also, you left over the bogus changelog entry which
Emmet pointed out.)

@Steve: if you look at the current version number of xdg-utils in
Ubuntu, you'll see that there's no ubuntu1 suffix; this is because the
source package was identical in Debian and Ubuntu, bit by bit, at some
point, Ubuntu only rebuilt the same source package taken verbatim from
Debian.  When this happens, the package is said to be "in sync".  This
means we need no Ubuntu specific changes for this source.

Here, you simply want to update to a newer Debian source package; this
usually happens automatically for packages in sync, however we're too
far in the hardy cycle (we're in the "DebianImportFreeze"), so it wont
happen automatically, you need to request a sync.  However, you do not
need to prepare a source package.

Please lookup how to request a sync and follow this process instead; if
possible, try to continue using this bug report.
