Public bug reported:

Moving from Ubuntu 23.04 to 23.10 came alongside a kernel update from
6.2.0-36-generic to 6.5.0-10-generic. As of the update, plugging in my
USB-C monitor causes my machine to immediately shut off its native
screen, followed by a crash and reboot.

My machine is a Lenovo Yoga C940-14IIL with an Intel i7-1065G7. No logs
are written to /var/log/syslog or journalctl. I have been able to use my
screens normally by reverting to the old kernel. This is my first time
reporting an issue to the regressions mailing list, hopefully this
provides sufficient detail. Thank you for your work.
