*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 2062568 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2062568
At first I thought it was the same problem as in the bug report #2062568, but
since the unofficial kernel 6.8.0-45.45 from Mehmet only fixes the backchannel
message and not the NFS server crashes, I opened a new bug report.
In the meantime, I conducted new experiments. After 5 days I also had a crash
this morning with NFS4.1 and delegation switched off (echo 0 >
/proc/sys/fs/leases-enable).
All experiments with NFS4.0 indicate that I shouldn't have any more crashes
with it. But we would then have to do without ACL inheritance and other
features. We also had irregular client detached and attached messages during
testing with NFS4.0.
Due to pressure from our users, today I added the following kernel parameters
to /etc/sysctl.conf:
vm.dirty_background_ratio = 5
vm.dirty_ratio = 10
vm.dirty_writeback_centisecs = 500
vm.dirty_expire_centisecs = 300
vm.min_free_kbytes = 1048576
We urgently need advice on a workable interim solution.
Thanks in advance
