Hard to say exactly how `g_io_channel_write_chars actually` failed. In
some cases even G_IO_STATUS_ERROR does not set **error. More than one
place in the source code assume that `status != G_IO_STATUS_NORMAL`
implies `error != NULL` which is wrong. But I cannot reproduce this
crash...

As for the other issue, I'm preparing a patch that fixes showing the GUI
frontend for debconf in Wayland.

Unfortunately there is also a third issue, which is a new crash with
PackageKit 1.3.0 that happens in /usr/bin/pkcon *after* the helper has
finished...
