looks like this is now upstream according to this: https://lore.kernel.org/linux-scsi/20240912232447.45607-1-justintee8...@gmail.com/T/#m0c5162512ab2bd5cabf2135596cfc64de068f3f9
in particular this patch was called out: [PATCH 6/8] lpfc: Revise TRACE_EVENT log flag severities from KERN_ERR to KERN_WARNING This is in a set called: Update lpfc to revision 14.4.0.5 this is not in scsi-staging (which I sometimes look for patches in), the most recent relevant patch set there is: 33c3e71066b8 Merge patch series "lpfc: Update lpfc to revision 14.2.0.17" it is in 6.12/scsi-queue as mentioned... so 1af9af1f8ab3 scsi: lpfc: Revise TRACE_EVENT log flag severities from KERN_ERR to KERN_WARNING is the specific patch that was pointed out for the logging. For now there's nothing to do and I don't have any timeline at all for this as 6.12 has not made it into mainline yet, nor linux-next, and not even the torvalds tree. Please track this and remind us again once this hits mainiine and we can revisit it. I'll change this to wishlist for now. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Wishlist ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid => New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2073571 Title: [Lenovo Ubuntu 24.04 Bug] lpfc driver reports failure message To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2073571/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
