Public bug reported:

Changing any display setting results in an error. A notification at the
top of the Settings screen that says "Changes Cannot be Applied" and the
subtitle says "This could be due to hardware limitations".

When I run gnome-control-center from the terminal, this is the error
that is displayed:

16:22:41.9619 cc-display-panel[33179]: WARNING: Config not
applicable: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.InvalidArgs: Monitor
mode size doesn't match scaled monitor layout

The issue occurs both in the live ISO and in the installed version of
Ubuntu 24.10 beta.

The issue does not occur in the Ubuntu 24.04 live ISO and also does not
occur in the installed version of Ubuntu 24.04.
