Rupert, I got the built-in amd driver back working. I found someone who explained that the amd's uninstaller may not remove the blacklist.
use ls -l /etc/modprobe.d/ to see if it lists the file blacklist-amdgpu.conf If it does, you need to remove that file. I just used this command to move the blacklist file to my home folder, so I could just move it back if necessary. sudo mv /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-amdgpu.conf ~ And reboot. blacklist-amdgpu.conf's entire contents are: blacklist amdgpu so you could just remove it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2080823 Title: 6.8.0-44 breaks amdgpu-dkms 6.8.5 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2080823/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
