Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.17-10-generic
On dapper, i was affected by bug #41652, so that i had to blacklist orinoco kernel modules to make my prism2 wifi card work in wpa crypted wireless network. This blacklist made hostap-cs module load automatically on dapper (see [syslog dapper]). After my upgrade to edgy, hostap_cs is not loaded any more. If i load it "manually" with sudo modprobe hostap-cs, it is loaded but doesn't see my pcmcia card (see [syslog edgy]). If i remove orinoco blacklisting, orinoco_cs driver is automatically loaded : [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/var/log$ lspcmcia Socket 0 Bridge: [yenta_cardbus] (bus ID: 0000:00:04.0) Socket 0 Device 0: [orinoco_cs] (bus ID: 0.0) Socket 1 Bridge: [yenta_cardbus] (bus ID: 0000:00:04.1) but orinoco is still not working with wpa_supplicant [syslog dapper] Sep 22 23:07:53 localhost kernel: [17179611.448000] ieee80211_crypt: registered algorithm 'NULL' Sep 22 23:07:53 localhost kernel: [17179611.536000] hostap_cs: 0.4.4-kernel (Jouni Malinen <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>) Sep 22 23:07:53 localhost kernel: [17179611.536000] hostap_cs: setting Vcc=33 (constant) Sep 22 23:07:53 localhost kernel: [17179611.536000] hostap_cs: CS_EVENT_CARD_INSERTION Sep 22 23:07:53 localhost kernel: [17179611.536000] hostap_cs: setting Vcc=33 (from config) Sep 22 23:07:53 localhost kernel: [17179611.536000] Checking CFTABLE_ENTRY 0x01 (default 0x01) Sep 22 23:07:53 localhost kernel: [17179611.536000] IO window settings: cfg->io.nwin=1 dflt.io.nwin=1 Sep 22 23:07:53 localhost kernel: [17179611.536000] io->flags = 0x0046, io.base=0x0000, len=64 Sep 22 23:07:53 localhost kernel: [17179611.536000] hostap_cs: Registered netdevice wifi0 Sep 22 23:07:53 localhost kernel: [17179611.536000] wifi0: Interrupt, but dev not OK Sep 22 23:07:53 localhost kernel: [17179611.576000] hostap_cs: index 0x01: Vcc 3.3, irq 3, io 0x0140-0x017f Sep 22 23:07:53 localhost kernel: [17179611.772000] prism2_hw_init: initialized in 196 ms Sep 22 23:07:53 localhost kernel: [17179611.772000] wifi0: NIC: id=0x801b v1.0.0 Sep 22 23:07:53 localhost kernel: [17179611.772000] wifi0: PRI: id=0x15 v1.1.1 Sep 22 23:07:53 localhost kernel: [17179611.772000] wifi0: STA: id=0x1f v1.8.4 Sep 22 23:07:53 localhost kernel: [17179611.772000] wifi0: Channel setting out of range (3)!
