Was hit today, on a lenovo Thinkpad, finally arrived here after circling
around.
Running kubuntu 24.04.1, this problem seems unresolved. kernel 6.8.0-44-generic.

I was confident enough to accept the proposed solution in the BIOS/UEFI of
lenovo of just deleting all undisclosed items after the message "Error: The
non-volatile system UEFI variable storage is nearly full."
So far, it looks like I could boot up again, with few problems.

I had filed a bug report with the NULL pointer dereference #2080355
earlier.

So far, i haven't been able to understand, how I can prevent the same
things happening again. It says "Fix released", and "Completed:
2022-02-03". If so, it ought to be present in 24.04.1; ain't it?
