Public bug reported:

After upgrading to 24.04.1 there are no sound devices in the desktop sound
settings. Please see attached image of Settings -> Sound control panel.
Volume control is not possible via the GUI or keyboard volume controls.
Prior to the upgrade this was working perfectly in ubuntu 22.04.

Note that sound drivers are still working in other applications.
For example, sound is played correctly from Google Chrome.

ALSA correctly lists the available devices.

Suspect that this is related to changes in pulse_audio / pipewire.
