Public bug reported: The latest version of the nvidia driver shipped by the graphics ppa: 560.35.03-0ubuntu0~gpu22.04.3 on jammy doesn't package 32 bit libs. For example, libnvidia-compute-560:i386 libnvidia-decode-560:i386 libnvidia- encode-560:i386 libnvidia-fbc1-560:i386 libnvidia-gl-560:i386 are all missing.
The previous versions of this driver do. The user facing issue that I see with this is that it completely stops steam's proton from working. This package comes from https://launchpad.net/~graphics- drivers/+archive/ubuntu/ppa, and says that it's maintained by the core ubuntu developers, so I hope this is the right place to file a report. I don't seem to be able to file a bug against that ppa directly. When I install the same version of the driver packaged by nvidia, these libraries are included, and proton works. I'm running on KDE neon 6.1 based on ubuntu 22.04, but I don't think that's relevant as it's a general packaging issue. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2079007 Title: nvidia-driver-560 does not ship 32 bit libs To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/2079007/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
