Adding this comment as a data point. The code in the -glue package is mostly in main already, those functions used to be included as copies in the different components of the libimobiledevice project, they are just not moving them to a shared location (they also added some functions since the refactoring so in practice some of the code is indeed new in main). My point there is the MIR is not really making the situation different from today.
That said I agree with the previous comment, it would be better to use existing libraries and we should try to work with upstream on that. That said our limited resources will mean it will probably take some time before we get some results. Maybe an option would be to allow the package in main, since it's not changing from what we have today and would unblock upstream update, with a goal to work over the next cycles to try to improve things. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2074086 Title: MIR libimobiledevice-glue To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libimobiledevice-glue/+bug/2074086/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
