I too have been having this problem and even while I was diagnosing the
cause today, I received a kernel update to  Linux version
5.15.0-119-generic on Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS, but the problem still
remained.

I can see Phillip Cox has posted bug will be fixed in a newer kernel,
but before being aware of this I came up with a simple work around, just
incase anyone is interested which doesn't require reverting back to a
previous kernel which can be found AskUbuntu.
