The original bug you've submitted was about "Marking node failed during
deployment" but now you are talking about "I however can no longer erase
the disk on the UI".
Bugs you are linking might be similar to your case, however so far I
don't see how they are connected.
Are you using custom 20.04 LTS?

What happens on the machine during the failure?
