Hello, and sorry for the slow reply here. You may have removed the Firefox snap, but it seems you had not removed the firefox deb helper package (it provides some useful system integration for the Firefox snap), and the pre-inst script of that package was the cause of error here.
If you still have access to that system, please also try removing the firefox deb package if you indeed don't use firefox. Otherwise, the issue I see in the dpkg terminal logs is a temporary failure in name resolution (DNS lookup error), and was most likely a random/temporary issue that has since long been fixed, and there isn't much we could do for that from Firefox's perspective anyway. So I'll close this bug accordingly. Thanks. ** Changed in: firefox (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2003592 Title: package firefox (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: new firefox package pre-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/2003592/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
