No problem. Happy to help. > Does unbound remain inactive after the upgrade, or does the postinst maintainer script start it up again for you successfully?
The postinst script does indeed start it back up. As for timing, it was ~43 seconds between the prerm stop and postinst start in one example. This was during a dist-upgrade which triggered the "upgrade" and "configure" actions. > It will not apply directly to the package Yeah, :( I kind of assumed that might be the case with all the "Automatically added" stuff, but: > we can simply remove #DEBHELPER# macro from d/unbound.prerm and replace it with the fixed version This sounds fine to me. I'll attach the patch for focal's source using the applied/ubuntu/focal-devel branch, which I hope is correct. Will do the same for Bionic shortly afterwards. ** Patch added: "Overwriting the unbound.prerm file directly from Focal and removing DEBHELPER macro" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unbound/+bug/2072700/+attachment/5796753/+files/focal_unbound_prerm_overwrite.diff -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2072700 Title: [Bionic/Focal] Unbound prerm script stops the service on upgrades To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unbound/+bug/2072700/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
