Public bug reported: For whatever reason, my internal disks don't mount automatically, even though they're supposed to. Possibly because they're set as removable in BIOS/UEFI - it was the only way I could access all my drives, for some reason.
I started moving over from Windows10 after Noble came out. My storage disks are all still NTFS format, and I've noticed that, yeah, the driver isn't perfect. 😅️ Most often, a disk may fail to mount (manually) if I shut the computer down with it still mounted - I think some of the issues there have been adjusted so it happens less often, but it can still happen if the system hangs and I use the power button. (I'm aware of the keystroke that seems to be something like "alt + prntscrn + O" and have used it a couple times, but a hard shutdown seems to be when it happens the most.) Honestly, I feel a little silly reporting this, because the error messages seem to say that it's just an issue with the drive not being unmounted properly and being left dirty. But someone recommended it, and I figure it probably couldn't hurt. If nothing else, I'm learning how to file an error report. Still... maybe the system could detect if this is the issue, and suggest a way of solving it in the pop-up error? Like to run "ntfsfix" or something? Or if it could try/offer to fix it automatically, that'd be even better. 😃️ I hope this helps. 🙂️ If not, please excuse me. 😅️ ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 24.04 Package: udisks2 2.10.1-6build1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 6.8.0-36.36-generic 6.8.4 Uname: Linux 6.8.0-36-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia_modeset nvidia ApportVersion: 2.28.1-0ubuntu3 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: pass CurrentDesktop: MATE CustomUdevRuleFiles: 70-snap.firmware-updater.rules 70-snap.gog-galaxy-wine.rules 70-snap.snapd-desktop-integration.rules 70-snap.snapd.rules 70-snap.color-picker.rules 70-snap.firefox.rules 70-snap.snap-store.rules 70-snap.vlc.rules 70-snap.krita.rules 70-snap.twinejs.rules 70-snap.spelunky.rules Date: Sat Jul 6 12:26:02 2024 InstallationDate: Installed on 2024-04-26 (71 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu-MATE 24.04 LTS "Noble Numbat" - Release amd64 (20240424) MachineType: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
